How Much Water Should I Drink to Lose Weight Fast?

There is rising evidence that increased water consumption can help aid weight loss efforts. Statistics show that up to 59% of adults in the US who have already lost weight increased their water intake during the weight loss journey. Not only can water help you cut down fat and extra poundage, but it can also help you maintain the weight loss over a long period. The latter is even more important for people who want to cut down their consumption of calories and produce maximum weight loss for life. Existing medical literature shows that drinking half a liter of water a day at least can help with weight loss efforts.

Can You Lose Belly Fat by Drinking Water?

The short answer to this is yes, drinking more water can help your ability to reduce troublesome belly fat. There are many great reasons why this happens to the body. Many people doubt water because it’s not fancy, and it seems to be somehow disconnected to the entire idea of burning calories for weight loss. However, there is evidence that drinking water can improve your body’s ability to burn calories even when you are resting. Coldwater, specifically, seems to have a truly metabolic effect on the body.

For overweight women, water intake of more than one liter per day has been shown to help with trimming fat and extra weight. The period for water therapy is an average of twelve months. The minimum weight loss has been computed at more than four pounds.

What’s interesting about the previous reference was that the majority of the respondents or subjects of the study were women who did not make any conscious effort to lose weight. They weren’t involved in any specific diet plan, and the fixed variable in the weight loss equation was that they consumed more water than usual.

Additional studies have shown that obese or overweight people would benefit from drinking more water (about one to two liters of water) over weeks. What the researchers discovered was exciting: there was a definite reduction of the BMI of the respondents, reduction of waist size (which also meant their belly fat was addressed), and total body fat.

Take note, however, that the body cannot survive on water alone. It is a dangerous idea to forego food and drink water all day, especially if you engage in rigorous physical activities. If you burn calories with exercise, you need to supply carbohydrates, protein, and fat to your body in the right amounts.

How Much Weight Can You Lose by Drinking Water for 3 Days?

If you are already drinking water before your meals, you are already setting yourself up for success. Water can greatly reduce appetite, a person’s motivation to eat (or overeat, in some cases). There appears to be a great impact on older people, specifically in males aged fifty and above. Regular water consumption by older adults shows a possible average weight loss of two kilograms or four-point four pounds over twelve weeks. This figure does not consider additional weight loss that results from nutritional modifications or dieting, and exercise.

So what does this mean? If you are drinking a lot of water and are engaged in plenty of exercises and are eating well, you will lose more than two kilograms over twelve weeks.

Water fasting is an activity that greatly reduces the caloric intake of a person, either for health or spiritual reasons. Water fasting is just called fasting by medical professionals. A fast is characterized by stopping the consumption of solid food (or rarely consuming solid food) over time. Many people substitute tea, water, and juices during fasting, and the choice of beverage defines the fast.

There is also evidence that water fasting can provide health benefits, including reducing the risk of developing many degenerative and chronic issues such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Interestingly, when the body is experiencing water fast, the cells in the body respond at one point by engaging in increased autophagy. Autophagy is the body’s way of removing dead or damaged cells to prepare the renewal of the tissues and cells through the production of new and normal cells.

72-hour water fast will require you to drink at least three liters of water throughout the day, for three days. Strict water fast removes access to other kinds of beverages and food. You can’t eat anything solid. You must not consume sodas and other beverages with sugar. Take note that water fast can be dangerous for people who have metabolic disorders, so if you have heart disease or diabetes, we urge you to connect with your physician first to check if you can safely engage in it. If not, we do not recommend it because you might end up hurting yourself.

Post-fast, you must transition yourself to eating solid food again. During this time, the body has already adjusted to having no solid food, so it might go into shock if you suddenly consume a huge meal. Some unsavory symptoms may emerge as a result.
